Singer composer Shankar Mahadevan has been chosen for the Padma Shri award. The composer feels humbled and honoured to be considered for this honour, at the same time he thinks his musical partners Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa are equal recipients of the country’s fourth-highest civilian honour. The government announced the Padma Awards 2019 on the eve of India's 70th Republic Day.
